Emergency Buddy

"Emergency Buddy" is a program designed to help individuals who are homebound for a variety of reasons all around the city and provide medical services as well as prevent loneliness. The program’s volunteers receive first aid training and certification free of charge. They then visit elderly and homebound individuals once a week to check their vitals and keep them company.

Municipal Employment Center

Tel Aviv-Yafo offers a variety of special programs for children and youth at risk or who have experienced mental, emotional or social trauma, as well as their parents and other members of their families. Programs include: clubs; “warm homes” and treatment centers; treatment for victims of sexual assault; empowerment and support for new immigrant girls; a transition apartment for youth ages 18 to 25; vocational education for dropouts; a treatment line; a 24-hour sexual assault hotline and assistance; and a support center and services for LGBT youth, including a treatment center, a shelter, a transit apartment, psychological and social assistance, and more.

Volunteering and Social Leadership

Want to make a difference? The Volunteer Unit matches individuals up with unique volunteer opportunities based on their interests, training and skills in order to improve quality of life for needy populations throughout the city and make Tel Aviv-Yafo a better place for all. Volunteers may work with youth, single-parent families, immigrants, children and adults with disabilities, people with mental disabilities, veteran citizens and elderly people, Holocaust survivors and more. Initiatives include helping individuals secure rights, aiding in substance abuse recovery, rehabilitation for the homeless, food preparation and delivery, and more.
