Internships and Scholarships
Internships and scholarships can help enhance a student's learning experience in any academic institution. Most of the colleges and universities in the Greater Tel-Aviv-Yafo area offer financial aid for students, as well as assistance for those seeking hands on experience to augment their studies. There are also a variety of private organizations available to assist in these matters and help you make the most of your time in Israel.
 
Scholarships

Each of the city’s academic institutions offers scholarships based on financial need and academic excellence.
In addition to the universities and colleges themselves, students can apply to a variety of other organizations for financial aid:

MASA Scholarship: MASA is a joint project of the Israeli government and the Jewish Agency of Israel, aiming to enable young Jews (18 to 30) from around the world to build a lasting relationship with Israel and gain meaningful experiences by participating in a long-term program in Israel. MASA provides connections to programs, grants and scholarships towards program fees, as well as support, activities, workshops and resources while here in Israel.

Internships

An interesting internship is a wonderful way to gain experience and to pave the way for a meaningful career. In Greater Tel Aviv you can find a variety of internship options that are unique to Israeli society and to the greater area of Tel Aviv.  The city is one of the leading hubs hi tech, innovation, science, media, journalism, politics, and art International students can take part in unpaid internships during their study period in Israel. After the study period is over, students may chose to remain in Israel and pursue additional internship experience. There are a variety of programs and organizations that can assist those seeking such an experience. For more information, please refer to the following:

  • Israel Government Fellows: A 10-month Government Internship & Educational program in Israel. The Israel Government Fellows program is a unique leadership program, endorsed by the Office of the Prime Minister of Israel. Participants will work within the Israeli government system, attend seminars with some of the leading figures in Israeli political and public life, and meet other young Jewish leaders from around the world.
  • MASA-Career Israel: This program provides internship placements in leading companies and organizations in the private and public sectors in Israel. The program includes internship placement and accommodations in apartments in central locations, Hebrew language studies (ulpan), health insurance, extracurricular enrichment activities, tours, cultural activities, accompanying staff.
  • Tikun Olan in Tel Aviv: The Program offers English-speaking college graduates from around the world the opportunity to live, volunteer and study in Tel Aviv or Jaffa for 5 or 10 months while participating in Social Action or Coexistence work.
  • OTZMA Israel: Internship and Volunteering: Participants have the opportunity to learn Hebrew, travel Israel, volunteer in developing communities, and participate in a professional internship with a non-profit organization. They are given access to excellent educational seminars, opportunities to learn about the Jewish non-profit world, all while building long lasting friendships and connections and getting to know the real Israel:

  • Tel Aviv University: MA - Environmental Studies: Students are invited to apply for an internship position with one of Israel's leading environmental organizations, working in fields such as environmental advocacy, environmental planning, social justice, transportation, and green architecture.   • Tel Aviv University: MA - Political Science in Action: Students are encouraged to take up internship and other extra-curricular activities during an exciting year stay in Israel. For more information please email polilce@post.tau.ac.il
  • R&D Scientist Internship: The Research Intern will conduct innovative research in the fields of synthetic biology, proteomics and epigenetics, with specific focus on design and informatics aspects. She or he will work as part of a multidisciplinary team developing novel molecular measurement technologies.
